Post - Getting Back Into Photography And Going Outside

Recently I decided to pull the trigger on a new camera. I got a Nikon Z6 II, a mirrorless camera released around 2020. It is not the "latest and greatest" but it is absolutely still a strong contender being only a few years old.

I discovered that it had a feature to take a bunch of photos with incremental changes to the focus of the lens, which will aid me in doing my macro photography that I have put to the side for too long.

While the camera did cost a lot I needed a kick in the pants like this to begin to enjoy some of my older hobbies again. I feel good about the fact that I am excited to take photos again, and it feels nice to not be fighting against my equipment. My previous camera was perfectly cromulent but some of the new features will make quite a few things easier for me going forward - reducing friction.

I also ordered a ring light and stand. I am going to get into food photography too, which should help me cook more which will naturally dovetail into healthier eating as well.
